CSSC conducts continuing education seminars and inservice training programs for health care providers dealing with federal and state controlled substance regulations and their application to an institution's policies and procedures.
Inservice training programs combined with a well publicized policy of periodic unscheduled audits and inspections of the various departments involved in the purchase, storage, dispensing, administration and prescribing of controlled substances are designed to review and evaluate record keeping and operating procedures and ensure that all members of the health care team are aware of, and in compliance with, the provisions of federal and state laws and regulations dealing with controlled substances.
